The GyroPilot is an excellent device to support a broad range of professional pilotage and navigation operations. The GyroPilot is a compact unit which plugs in the ships AIS plug. Portable Pilot Units â€“ Maritime Pilots
The ChannelPilot is a top-selling PPU for users seeking a Portable Pilot unit that is semi-independent from the ships systems.
ChannelPilot has independent sensors to calculate accurate GNSS position. Using a combination of multi GNSS constellations (GPS/ GLONASS/BEIDOU) augmented with SBAS (where available) corrections, it calculates a very accurate position to less than 1m accuracy. It calibrates with the ships AIS for heading information to calculate and smooth the input AIS Heading (HDG) to generate very accurate and importantly, stable data for the software to use. From its internal gyro, it generates highly accurate Rate-of-Turn information which is also provided to the software. The ChannelPilot feeds the position, heading and ROT data to the software along with all AIS targets in the vicinity. The result is very good quality information bring processed to create a scale image of the vessel on the software & chart on the laptop/ tablet. The better the quality of the data that is fed into the software, the more stable the image and robust the predictor. The ChannelPilot is most suited for narrow channel or river pilotage. It also supports some docking and berthing maneuvers. It is an exceptional device for navigation in low visibility conditions

It provides SBAS corrected position information that is fully independent of the ships’ own AIS position, giving you the high quality data required from precise navigation. This is designed for pilots and mooring masters who require independent position for finer maneuvers such as offshore vessel mooring operations during lightering and ship to ship transfer to augment the information coming from the Pilot Plug. The GyroPilot Plus is the same lightweight and portable design as the GyroPilot V3.

The HarbourPilot range consists of top-end, dual antenna systems that are fully independent of the ships systems.
